This weather station is a Davis VantageVue located in a residential area of Framingham MA roughly half way between Route 9 and the High School. This is about 20 miles west of Boston.
The weather station is mounted about 24' above the ground which is about 4' higher than the roof of the house. The mounting pole is two 10' electrical conduit (1-1/4") pipes connected together with a connector and epoxy. The pole is bracketed to the deck railing posts with 4 brackets spanning a 3' distance. This is a very sturdy and low cost system made from parts that are readily available at your local home center.
The software used to maintain this web site is wview running under Linux (Ubuntu 10.04). The local linux machine updates to my web hosting service every 10 minutes and toWeather Underground every 5 minutes using Station ID: KMAFRAMI6.
