Framingham MA Weather
42.3 N - 71.4 W
Updated: Sep 23 2012

This weather station is a Davis VantageVue located in a residential area of Framingham MA roughly half way between Route 9 and the High School. This is about 20 miles west of Boston.

The weather station is mounted about 24' above the ground which is about 4' higher than the roof of the house. The mounting pole is two 10' electrical conduit (1-1/4") pipes connected together with a connector and epoxy. The pole is bracketed to the deck railing posts with 4 brackets spanning a 3' distance. This is a very sturdy and low cost system made from parts that are readily available at your local home center.

The software used to maintain this web site is wview running under Linux (Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS). The wview software performs the tasks of reading data from the weather station, updating these web pages, and uploading the web pages to my hosting service. The web pages are updated to my web hosting service every 10 minutes and weather data is updated to Weather Underground every 5 minutes using Station ID: KMAFRAMI6.

The local linux computer is an old Pentium IV system running at 2.8 GHz with 1.5GB RAM and 240GB of disk space. The weather data databases are automatically backed up daily and transferred to my hosting service.
